Job Description Applications Developer, Marketing Technology Why will you enjoy this new opportunity The Chief Digital Transformation Office (CDTO) offers an opportunity to shape and drive VMware’s Digital Transformation to enable Operations to scale and support VMware’s growth. We are part of GCA engineering team responsible for accelerating digital transformation of VMware’s GTM, Customer experience businesses by providing technical leadership to implementing scalable technical solutions for the critical business initiatives. We are on an initiative to help expand VMware’s GTM business by providing appropriate tools that will lay foundation for SAAS offerings thereby improving the business process efficiency and effectiveness. As a developer, you will get an opportunity to work on enterprise class, modern application ecosystem to apply your knowledge, explore new functional/technical domains What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for As an Applications developer, you will be participating in the development of applications primarily on the Marketing Ecosystem for Web experience and Events Management. You will work with the technical leads and product owners to design and build the solution. You will closely work with fellow developers across the Java tech stack (Spring boot, Spring Security, Cloud, Spring data) and custom Marketing applications, handle production systems, debug any production issues and get these to closure. Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing Understand marketing ecosystem from system, functional, technical and integrations point of view Develop microservices, unit test, automation, CI/CD deployments. Identify opportunities of improvement and optimizations in various production systems Identify automation opportunities for productivity optimizations Propose & discuss optimization solutions with Product owners & fellow developers What type of work will you be doing What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis Contribute towards the development microservices for Marketing Applications Appreciate the DevOps model own the Quality of code through the build, test and UAT cycle Review and analyse production issues, break fixes, security & vulnerability issues Collaborate with developers, operations team, security team etc. to drive solutions Collaborate with DevOps and release management team to promote the build to production Post-production support Required Skills: 2+ Years of experience in Java and related tech stack Experience in developing Java Spring Boot applications, Spring Security, Spring Data, REST APIs Good understanding of SDLC processes and tools, Agile and DevOps methodologies Must have experience debugging, fixing issues, and developing test cases and automation Good to have working experience on Kubernetes, SAML, Oauth, UI Frameworks Experienced in development methodologies and software delivery lifecycle What is the leadership like for this role What is the structure and culture of the team like This role will be reporting to the Marketing Technology Manager, who is responsible for the Marketing Ecosystem and drives the technical side of transformational business programs.
